Notes:

The 'monitoring'
part of this concerns the supervising of activities in progress to
ensure they are on course and on-schedule in meeting the objectives
and performance targets.
|
The 'control' part
of this involves the management function of achieving defined goals
within an established timetable.
|
For effective
control there needs to be three things in place (1) setting
standards, (2) measuring actual performance, (3) taking corrective
action.
|
A control process
might be something like: (a) compare actual performance with
planned performance, (b) measure the difference, (c) identify
causes for the difference, (d) take action to correct shortfalls or
enhance excesses.
